A Sound marketing strategy Important “Always read the fine print of a contract with the Devil.”
Sometimes people do what they have to do. But when economic extinction is around the corner due to the highway bypassing a small town, the citizens make a deal they will soon regret.
Meet The Flare A chubby sheriff and his wife, together with a street cleaner and a slutty waitress. They are the town’s only hope to save local humanity from a terrible fate.
So, what happened?
It was the women of Benton who recklessly sold their souls to the devil in return for prosperity and babies.
When the town has become a booming heaven, the women are all impregnated by Mister Dark himself, with some fine-print in their contract one baby is for them, and one is for him, as all women are “miraculously” expecting twins.
Then, out of a dark night, they experience something they had not foreseen—nobody expected Lucid, the son of Lucifer, to arrive to claim his prize by decorating the local graveyard with freshly dug graves, filled with the corpses of fallen guardians.
Will The Flare be strong enough to stop the killing and save the town from extinction?
God knows—and he’s busy elsewhere…

As a far-from-young-adult reader, I wasn't sure I'd like this genre at all. Instead, I found myself hardly waiting to get back to reading where I'd left off. The plot was interesting and held my attention. All loose ends were taken care of. I did guess who the'bad guy' was, though, long before I should have so the ending was far from tense. It's not a book I would reread but I don't feel I've wasted my time.Product details

This is a weird story, but great!
All about a bunch of no hopers sent from Heaven to fight for mankind's future in a small town.
The `warriors' are really just an old black blues player, a frustrated Brit business woman, and two kids. But they take over the bodies of the sheriff, his wife, the street cleaner, and a trashy waitress.
Lucid is the son of Satan and comes to the town to claim 66 sets of twins that the people have traded in exchange for their town becoming profitable again after the highway bypasses it.
The story moves between Lucid's slaughter of the child-guardians sent by heaven, and the inept team's attempt to save them.
It is both really scary, moving and very funny in places.
The bit in the mine made my hair stand up.
They run for it into Winterwood and the townsfolk come after them, under Lucid's control. The wood is evil and joins in the attempt to kill the team and all the kids from town.
Honestly, if you want to be scared, amused and entertained then look not further than this great horror story.
